In Texas, things are pretty much “God, State...Beer.” In that order. It goes without saying that the state beer is the one with the lone star. And naturally, that has been known as “The National Beer of Texas” for decades.
Its history runs deep. When the Lone Star Brewery was built in 1884, it was the first large mechanized brewery in Texas. Adolphus Busch, a man who some would say knew a thing or two about beer, founded it with a group of San Antonio businessmen. Lone Star beer became the company’s leading brand, and it remains a true Texas icon.
